Welcome family, friends and that nice Filipina woman on the number 45 bus that I met this afternoon and told about my new blog. As I write this it is a balmy 5 degrees (that’s 41 for almost everyone I know), and mostly cloudy. Or as I like to think of it, mostly sunny. See, I’ve been back for five days and my positive mindset is still intact. Speaking of being back, for everyone concerned about my luggage I am happy to report that it was a combined 78lbs, far above the 64lb limit, but neither Aer Lingus nor Air Tran even batted an eye. Which means that Air France still holds a special place in my heart for being the only airline to ever even look at the weight of my suitcases. How do you say “miserly” in French?

Hi – just saw your coment on my blog – thanks!
And by the way, you can add KLM to your list of airlines that are baggage-nazis. On my trip to Amsterdam, I thought I was being all smarty and packed only a carry on. They asked to weigh it. It was all of 2 kilos over the “carry on limit” so they made me check it. Why the feck do they care what the weight is when I’m going to be the one schlepping it around?!
Just wanted to let you know you can link my blog from yours and I will add a link to yours from mine.
Heather, thanks – now I am freaked out about my CSA flight in two weeks where I will attempt to stuff 4 days worth of clothes into a carry on. Joy.
Guys you are great for putting my blogs on your pages! Thanks!!!
