Au contraire, Ireland, who tells me en masse that I don’t have an American accent. Just because I don’t sound like W doesn’t mean I don’t sound like a significant portion of the country. In fact, it seems that I have a stereotypical accent for where I learned to talk:

Your Result: The Northeast
Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak. |

Thanks to Global Librarian for the link.

It said boston but it also said I was from the midwest and could get mistaken for a canadian.. It also said that Fargo probably didn’t sound funny to me.. I guess I don’t have a boston accent i am from the west who knew!
I got inland north, ie: chicago and wisconsin. Hmm.. I did just come off a weekend with hanging out with my brother-in-law…
i got midland
Love the link… came out a little weird though.. said i had a northcentral accent and that outsiders mistaken me for a canadian a lot… OK then. O canada….. whatever the words are. I loved what you did to the “posh-school girls” at the street corner. Gosh, i would have loved to have been there for that, you really need to come to my school and give some of the girls “the librarian look”. My mother is now torturing me by watching this “Monk” show. It scares the living daylights out of me. The guy is a dectective and had OCD. They are trying to solve a homocide… ugh it CREEPS me out… my mother loves it and watching my cringe.
Ah!! That’s pretty accurate!
The Irish also told me I didn;t have an American accent when I lived there. Just thunb your nose and say “na na na na na na!”
hilarious! i’m southern, apparently. i’m so sad that it shows…
WOW was that right on the ball
It says …
“North Central” is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw “Fargo” you probably didn’t think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot.
CT – Yeah, trust me, you are Boston! Kate – LOL, I sound more NY than you?! Dan – That is strange. Caitie – I think Monk comes on over here but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen it. Katie – I thought so too. Global – That will be my next tactic! Bagel – I think I’d like to talk like that. Rejoice in it! Mo – Do you sound like Fargo?!
It said no one would say I had an accent unless I was a SoCal surfer!! I could be from Midland, Atlanta or any one of those large cities in the south. Not sure if that’s a compliment!

Shocking! Mine said “Southern”
