This weekend I made a moderately priced mistake. Sick of schlepping around town with a purse the size of a suitcase, I made the executive decision to buy a new bag that could fit all of my essentials.
My mistake, of course, was not realizing what my essentials are. I am not a lipstick and keychain kind of girl. As of this afternoon I am a wallet, keychain, two lip gloss, hair brush, umbrella, sunglasses, gloves, paperback novel, date book, two pen, camera, iPod, free newspaper, mobile phone, carrier bag, bottle of Snapple, three sweet potato, two small Christmas presents and one new Touche Eclat kind of girl.
Clearly I need the suitcase, not the dainty purse.
Yowza!
For day to day I tend to go with my wallet, keys, cellphone and pressed powder makeup compact. All fit neatly into a very small purse.
Of course, when traveling I lug my very heavy SLR digital camera, a spare telephoto lens and many photo accoutrements. Plus a few granola bars in case my blood sugar drops and I get wonky. Thankfully, my husband will frequently tote that for me!
Try calling it a “Man Bag” instead of a purse. Perhaps that will help!
Edith would carry all that and more
And how is the YSL Touch Eclat?? I’ve always wondered if it’s as good as they say it is and if it’s worth the price… Especially considering how all the beauty mags rave about Maybelline Great Lash and I think it sucks balls.
The TE is pretty good. I would give it a B+ on the basis that I still had some dark smudges under my eyes even when I had it on, but it did a hell of a lot better than Clinique or Estee Lauder. The surprise find was the YSL mascara that came with it – that stuff is amazing!

and don’t forget the 5-6 books ‘just in case you get delayed’ …
