No one knows how to party like a librarian. Or so I’ve been told many, many times. Anyway, I came across three fun library-like items this week.
1. Unshelved – the comic inspired by, and about, librarians.
2. In Shopaholic and Baby, my favorite page is Becky’s letter to her former school librarian requesting that she buy every student a commemorative issue of the Vogue that Becky will be in, thus disproving whatever the staff might have said about her in the staff room. The librarian requests payment for the “sizable fine” still accruing on a Malory Towers book.
3. Library Thing lets you “catalogue” the books you are reading online and then share your profile with others. I’m on there now as Elishibai.
On a related note, I have been asked several time why I don’t tag my posts. Honestly, it’s just because it feels too much like cataloguing for my comfort!
