Hello Everyone!
No, I haven’t succumbed to the UK bird flu but there has been a ton of stuff going on around here in the last twenty four hours so I didn’t really have time to post. In addition to my regular work schedule I:
- Had to reschedule a dentist appointment and make a “women’s doctor” appointment (sorry, male relatives, but it’s true).
- Collected my new glasses and have adjusted to walking around with something on my face at all times.
- Had radioactive tracers injected into my vein – after several nurses panicked and couldn’t find my vein – and then waited hours to have my kidneys photographed. Turns out they are working fine.
- Have been offered the chance to write three e-books, which caused so much joy among the nurses who were with me when the offer came in that they brought me their Internet connection to email my parents. (They were feeling bad that I was being tested without my Mammy. I get that a lot in this country. I always feel like Scarlet O’Hara when it comes up.)
- Have been diagnosed with chronic active Epstein Barr Virus, always a joy. Promptly returned home and slept for an hour.
- Went on a mad cleaning spree this morning involving cleaning out the pantry, the closets and even the balcony.
- Spent the rest of the day on the couch re-watching Season One of One Tree Hill to recover from that exertion.
- Have learned that Larry will only sit through so many repeats of Season One of One Tree Hill.
- Have received and read an instruction booklet on leading the 3 – 6 year olds in Sunday Club. My debut will be Feb. 25, thankfully under the watchful guidance of seasoned pros – those being actual parents.
- Have been laughed at by Jo for not knowing that the Superbowl is on this weekend. What can I say? The only football that goes on in this apartment is the Premier League.
So, a busy few days, but I’m feeling positive and well-rested so hopefully it’ll be back to usual from here on out!
Scarlet…
I’ll try to be there next time
I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue so I understand the Epstein Barr virus and the results that you feel.( I also have DVT–Deep Vein Thrombosis) but I guess I am just used to all sorts of things.
I hope that you are feeling better.
i’ll educate you about all things superbowl, but only when it is important. like this year. BEAR DOWN! maybe you could come over and i’ll teach you the superbowl shuffle? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS5cOAwSTS4
bummer about the chronic virus, but I LOVE the new glasses (and no, they’re not too German or European, they’re stylist, sophisticated and cosmopolitan without being too severe or pretentious. my friend had radioactive particles injected last week and had to carry around a Dr’s not in case she passed through one of the random NYC security checkpoints they apparently have hidden around town!
So now that it’s been formally diagnosed, when will it be cured?
Cure? What is this cure you speak of?!
