Today was a red letter day.
I woke up and it was warm, so I got to wear my cute little toile-ish twin set.
Then I checked the mail and my dotty raincoat had arrived.
Then I got to work and there was an almond croissant waiting for me.
Then my new glasses were ready. I’ll be looking a little more like Lisa Loeb in no time.
Then I got into a complimentary screening of Atonement and holy god was it good. Not as good as the book, but then how could it be? And James Macavoy deserves an Academy Award. And I even remembered to bring my tissues, which I needed.
Then when I was walking home I noticed new issues of Zest and In Style in the newsagent.
Then when I got home I was greeted by these stunners:
So I would like to go on the record now and say that Alan is nuts, but I love his presents!
And then when I checked my email, I saw that I had a new article go live.
Lets hope the rest of the weekend goes as well!
(PS I’ve just been told that I’m easily amused/impressed. But I think that’s nice.)

What an awesome day! Always better to be easily amused than impossible to please–your loved ones should thank you
Congrats on your recent publications!
LOL – I agree, they should all be thanking me. And thank you!!
Your positive attitude is infectious! Can’t wait to see the new glasses.
How was Atonement, do you think, be for someone who hasn’t read the book? I’d really like to watch it!!
Amy – I’ll try to get a pic soon. Shari – Definitely, it stays very true to the story and JM and the young girl are riveting. Kiera is Kiera, and she’s very good in it as well.
Hi Beth, I was just catching up on some missed blogs and saw your new article. It reminded me of how freshman year at ND I took a self-defense class and ended up with a sprained ankle while trying to “defend myself.” Wow, I was such a wuss.
