For the record, I am well aware that most women in Ireland do not shorten Elizabeth to Beth.

My sister shortens Elizabeth to Beth and gets pretty annoyed as well when people just assume she is a Liz or some variation of it. She is 100% not a Liz, and is honestly amusing that anyone would think she is. I can imagine for most Beths that is the case.

I’ll occasionally get a Mandy (from someone who doesn’t actually know me), but thankfully when I was growing up my mom vehemently made it clear that my name is Amanda, and NOT Mandy. I am soooo not a Mandy.

Well I had the opposite, my mom introduced me as Kathleen to her doctor the other day. Urrrrr who??
