Mass Transportation

Contrary to most people, I tend to have a really good time on mass transportation.  No, I don’t like being shoved in like a sardine or forced to listen to someone’s iPod screaming out terrible music, but for the most part the people watching is amazing.  Today I had several encounters that I found notable.

Encounter [...]

My Life In Music

Yet another tag from Facebook means another post here.  This one was kind of fun though, because it’s so bizarre, and I loved some of the results!
What does your music library say about you?
*Put Your iTunes, winamp, mp3 player or whatever on SHUFFLE
*For each question, press the next button to get your answer (no cheating)
*You [...]

More About Me

So this Facebook thing seems to be all about tagging people to do things.  Thank goodness I can regurgitate it here so I don’t have to think up something new for today!
USE ONLY ONE WORD! It’s not as easy as you might think!
1. Where is your cell phone? Table.
2. Your significant other? Laurence.
3. Your [...]

Before I forget – check out 40 Fights Between Husband & Wife by Colm Liddy.
I’ve got one of those six degrees of separation things going on with the author but that’s not a great reason to get you to buy a book so read the blurb, it looks like a totally unique view of love and [...]

Mystery No More

Back from my tests and I’m a mystery no more!
What I am, in fact, is a seronegative/antibody negative myesthenic.  This just means that I don’t have the particular antibodies that can be picked up in the blood test to confirm myasthenia so I’m in the minority of those with this uncommon condition.  So that [...]

Why I’m A Fun Patient

Besides letting the nurses crash my hospital room to watch The Golden Globes, I really do think I am a fun patient to have around.  I realised that I get comments like “I’ve never had a patient like you before” quite a bit.  I take them as compliments, because I do think I brighten up [...]

25 Things

So Facebook is turning out to be a lot like blogging – all sorts of tags running around in that place.  Sue sent me a story this weekend about the 25 Random Things tag, but little did she know that I’d finally given in and done it just hours earlier.  Because I have nothing to [...]

Quick Update

Blood tests are back and… I’m still a medical mystery!
Sort of.
I turned up negative for some antibodies that they were expecting me to be positive for, but apparently anywhere from 10% – 30% of people with myasthenia are negative.  So I’m not quite back to having no diagnosis yet.
The neurologist is still [...]
